On Mondays I contribute a “Culture Count” piece—for this we take a numerical look at an artist or an arts institution’s work and we graph it–then I do an interview about what it reveals. When I ask for numbers, I ask for a mix of meaningful, insightful, quirky and funny; everyone so far has come up with really great things, I’m almost always surprised and entertained. Examples include Mark Morris, Rakim, Japan Society, Midsummer Night Swing, Guster, Sebastian Errazuriz, Shakespeare in the Park….
